Global Awareness
In my studies I have focused a lot in the research of children's global awareness. I strongly believe that in order to understand our society and its future, we need to understand how children learn to perceive the world around them and how does their awareness form under the influence and information of global phenomena and media.

"So that we could understand as well" - Children's Global Awareness on Global Questions (2019)
I was one of the first ones in Finland to study the factors that shape Finnish children's global awareness. In my study I took into consideration factors such as school, family, peers and media. The qualitative research took place in Finnish elementary school where I practiced some ethnographic observation and group interviews.
The whole study can be read here or you can read the article I wrote to the Finnish Sociology Journal Ilmiö about my findings (both of the publications are written in Finnish).
The World on Move
While working as communication specialist for the Finnish Green party's Think Tank Visio, I was also working as a project manager for the EU funded and by Fingo ry coordinated international global education project "Frame, Voice, Report" (2018-2019).

The World on Move
Our project's aim was to critically reflect and question the frames which shape our way of perceiving the global events through media. With the help of Finnish scholars, politicians, journalist and social change advocates, we organised a participatory training, where the participants had a change to write their own articles about migration and global movements.
(Maailma liikkeessä) was a participatory journal, written by the participants of the same global educational project. The journal was published under my coordination as a editor-in-chief.
The online publication of the journal can be read in Finnish here.

"Looking for the Undefined Goodness - The Public Image of Finnish Development Aid" (2015)
In this bachelor degree's dissertation I examined the formation of public sphere and discourse around Finnish development aid. According my findings, international aid seemed to be supported by the Finns in general, all tough there is a lot of criticism uncertainty around it. Which are the factors that create the legitimacy over development aid, albeit its role and effects in society seemed unclear to most of the people in Finland?

"Children’s agency in development – how does UNICEF present children through communication?"
In 2019, there were more than 4 billion people using the internet and more than 5 billion mobile users (Smart Insights, 2019). Due to the tools media is providing, it is easier to spread knowledge about the circumstances children are facing, but also it permits the international community to hear the thoughts and aspirations of children all over the world. But do we hear them?
In this essay, I discuss the agency of children in developing countries by analyzing the ways in which The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) presents children and their agency in their media representations.
The essay can be read in English here.

Sámi - The Unacknowledged People of Finland
Sámi people are the only known indigenous people in the region of European Union, spreaded across Lapland, in the northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Kola Peninsula in Russia. Unfortunately the general awareness on the native people of Finland is relatively low, which is notable for example their complete lack of acknowledgement in Finnish educational system - the one that has been claimed to be "one of the best in the world".
In this essay I will explore the different reasons behind the general lack of awareness on Sámi people in Finland and look into the official Finnish education system and the reasons behind the fact that the official curriculum seems to be ignoring such a notable aspect of multiculturalism and history than native people.
The essay can be read in English here.
